Two changes that affect candidates have been made to Scholarship Drama for 2009. They are:
- Candidates must present an oral introductory analysis at the start of both their text-based performance and self-devised pieces. Annotated Scripts and Teacher Authentication Forms are still required.
- The order in which the performances are to be presented has been changed so that the impromptu performance is last. This is because the national prescribed task for impromptu performance will be based on either the extract from the prescribed or the self-devised piece. It will facilitate the candidate's ability to devise their impromptu performance if both the text-based and the self-devised piece have been performed before they devise their impromptu piece.
